Habitat: On the margin of [lake]...in sedge fen...Rooted in Sphagnum moss over spongy, saturated peat. Full sun. Associates include Carex oligosperma, C. stricta, C. michauxiana, Rhynchospora alba, Sarracenia purpurea, Myrica gale, Chamaedaphne calyculata, Andromeda glaucophyla, Kalmia polifolia, Betula glandulifera, and stunted Larix laricina and Picea mariana.
