Habitat: In a shrub swamp. In very wet, but apparently shallow peat, and full sunlight ... Associated with Salix petiolaris, S. bebbiana, S. discolor, S. pedicellaris.
Description: A multiple-stemmed shrub 2 m tall. Branchlets bright reddish. Pistillate pyrifolia not seen here.
