Habitat: wet-mesic prairie in swale on shallowly-undulating topography on terrace ... In community dominated mostly by Andropogon gerardii and Carex lanuginosa. Soils consist of dark brown, sandy loam over sand. Associated with Spiraea alba, Sorghastrum nutans, Eryngium yuccifolium, Galium boreale ssp. septentrionale, Veronicastrum virginicum.
