Habitat: In a sparsely wooded pasture ... Associated with Crataegus punctata, C. succulenta, C. chrysocarpa, Viburnum lentago.
Description: a large single-stemmed shrub 4 m tall, 8 cm dbh. Stamens ca 10, anthers white. Both compound and simple thorns present. Est. 2-3 days past peak of anthesis (spring 2 weeks early this year).
