Habitat:
in thin soil and larger crevices ... Full sun 10-40 feet above the lake on exposed, much-fractured diabase which slopes gradually to south. Associates include Veronic teucrium, Sedum telephioides, S. purpureum, Poa compressa, Physocarpos [sic] opulifolius, Juniperus horizontalis, Potentilla fruticosa, P. tridentata, Diervilla lonicera, Achillea millefolium, Campanula rotundifolia, Euphrasia hudsoniana.
