Habitat: in moist soil in small seepage swamp at base of 230ft, north-facing slope; Open canopy composed of Fraxinus nigra, Quercus macrocarpa, Q. alba, Acer saccharum. Associates include Carex gracillima, C. stipata, C. interior, C. hysteracina, C. laevivaginata, Glyceria striata, Equisetum pratense, E. hyemale, E. arvense, Galium asprellum, Caltha palustris, Campanula aparinoides, Floerkea proserpinacoides, Viola cucullata.
