Habitat: Gently-rolling terrain ... Locally common in small (1 acre) old field opening surrounded by aspen woods and willow swqmp. Full sun. Sandy soil. Associated species include Solidago nemoralis, S. gigantea, Gentianopsis crinita, Zizia aurea, Galium boreale, Fragaria virginiana, Pedicularis canadensis, Poa pratensis, Agropyron repens, Rubus cf. allegheniensis, Salix bebbiana.
