Habitat: At the base of very steep, 200-foot, north-facing bluff ... on moss-covered ledges of 10- to 40-foot, north-facing, moist and cool (maderate) limestone cliff, especially near cold air vents. Partially shaded by Pinus strobus, Betula allegheniensis [sic], and Tilia americana. Associated species include Cystopteris bulbifera, Cryptogramma stelleri, Arabis shortii.
