Habitat:
growing out of limestone rock face on a small stretch of cliffs, about 10-20 meters high along creek. Fairly well shaded by Fraxinus pensylvanica, Tilia americana, Ulmus spp. Few associates, but they do include: Mitella diphylla, Cystopteris tenuis, Cystopteris bulbifera.
