Habitat: Moderately rugged forested terraine along creek. In narrow brushy ecotone between sedge wetland along the creek and small old clearing on adjacent upland. Moist loamy organic substrate. Full sun to partial shade of Salix discolor, Prunus virginiana, Corylus americana, and Cornus racemosa. Additional associates include: Spartina pectinata, Solidago gigantea, S. canadensis, Monarda fistulosa, Helianthus giganteus, Asclepias syriaca, Veronicastrum virginicum, Lathyrus palustris, Aster novae-angliae, Rubus strigosus.
