Habitat: In the understory of an oak-aspen forest. Habitat dominated by Quercus ellipsoidalis and Populus tremuloides. In dry-mesic sandy soil. Associated with Prunus serotina, Crataegus chrysocarpa, Rhamnus cathartica, Zanthoxylum americanum.
Description: With 10 stems (non-clonal), the largest 7.5 m tall, and 7.5 cm dbh. Bark gray, smooth. Ovaries nearly glabrous; leaves bronze-tinged. From same stem #27627.
