Habitat: gentle north-facing slope, calcareous fen. In deep peat with travertine common near surface; dominated by Carex prairea and C. interior. PH 8.1, conductivity 700 microomhs. Associated with Eriophorum angustifolium, Carex buxbaumii, Parnassia glauca.
