Habitat: Disturbed bedrock outcrop with Vaccinium angustifolium, Fragaria virginiana, Viola novae-angliae, Taraxacum erythrospermum, Luzula acuminata, Danthonia spicata, Poa pratensis, etc.
Associated Species: shaded by Betula papyrifera, Pinus banksiana, Sorbus decora. etc.
Description: Several dozen stems in large clump. Gemma not appearing in just single whorls; some dead stems in patch.
