Habitat: South-sloping bedrock outcrop with Juniperus communis, Comptonia peregrina, Vaccinium angustifolium, Corydalis sempervirens, Fallopia cilinodis, Danthonia spicata, Carex tonsa var. rugosperma, C. foenea, lichens, etc.
Associated Species: Hylocomnium splendens, Leucobryum glaucum, etc.
Description: Various tufts of Huperzia "selago" types, Lycopodium dendroideum and L. annotinum nearby. (Spores appear abortive; possilby H. x buttersii.)
