Habitat:
sandbar exposed by low water levels (extended drought). Substrate is coarse sand, and shallow silt over sand. Full sun. Associated species include Eragrostis hypnoides, Panicum capillare, Cyperus odoratus, Eleocharis intermedia, Polygonum lapathifolium, Mimulus ringens, Mysosoton aquaticum, Erysimum cheiranthoides, and seedlings of Salix x rubens.
