Habitat: Local on a fairly large bedrock outcrop. Forming a dense patch on the margin of the exposed diorite. Mostly in full sun. Low shrubs, to ~12 inches tall.
Associated Species: Associates include Diervilla lonicera, Sorbus decora, Amelanchier spp., Aster macrophyllus, Aralia nudicaulis, Schizachne purpurascens, Cladina spp.
