Habitat: Local in degraded bottomland hardwood forest in narrow valley between 260-foot bluffs. Soil is deep alluvial silt. Canopy dominated locally by Acer negundo. Entwining on dozens of stems of Laportea canadensis, occasionally also on Rudbeckia laciniata and on Fraxinus nigra seedlings.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Glechoma hederacea, Viola pubescens, Leonurus cardiaca, Blephilia hirsuta, Angelica atropurpurea, Silphium perfoliatum, Urtica dioica, Hystrix patula.
