Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Rugged bedrock terrain between County Road 4 and the Mile Post 7 Tailings Ponds, two miles west of Silver Bay. Local on upper portion of extremely steep, 200-foot, east-facing slope of the ridge east of Bear Lake. SE1/4 of SE1/4 of SW1/4 Sec. 34

Habitat: Several small patches encountered in moss mats on lower ledges of 30- to 40-foot diabase cliff. Shaded by Betula papyrifera and Quercus rubra growing at the base of the cliff, and by slightly overhanging bedrock above the ledges.
Associated Species: Associated species include Poa glauca, Rubus strigosus.
