Habitat: Collected from wet mixed forest of Thuja occidentalis, Abies balsamea, and Betula papyrifera. Growing clonally in pool with Plagiomnium sp., Viola sp., Impatiens capensis, Rubus pubescens, Lycopus uniflorus, Carex trisperma, C. leptalea, and Maianthemum trifolium.
