Notes:
Old Growth Forest Project, Transect 1, in circle at 60 m, and near circles at 65, 70 m. MICROSCOPIC ANALYSIS: Basidiospores from spore print (x1250, 5% KOH) ovate, finely verrucose with small warts, ca, 0.25 µm wide, covering entire spore, small hilar appendix, profile: 9.9-11.9 x 7.0-8.0 (-8.5) µm (n=20), av. 10.8 x 7.5 µm, Q (1.34-) 1.36-1.49 (-1.59), Q av 1.44. Average spore width is wider than reported by Niskanen, I.K., et al., Mycologia 103: 1080-1101, 2011, but not by much, and the Q av. is smaller. The spores for the collection indicate C. armillatus, Joe Ammirati, Aug. 8, 2022.
