small tree, to 9.6 m in height, DBH 11.8 cm, trunk height to foliage 5.2 m, crown height 4.4 m, crown width 3.6 m; foliage 2 kg mature wet mass; outer bark rough, with lenticels; fissures vertical, horizontal, narrow; bark black, dark brown; cambium brown, light brown, white; wood white; exudate absent; DNA preserved in silica, from felled plot. Local name: kodilom Local use: timber for house and shed construction; leaves are edible and used as cushions
