Habitat: Peatland with taller black spruce. Water well below peat surface. Hummocks and hollows even throughout. Many hummocks dominated by non-sphagnum moss (Pleurozium schreberi). No indirect browse.
Associated Species: Common Associates: Rhododendron groenlandicum, Carex trisperma, Maianthemum trifolium, and Vaccinium vitis-idaea.
