Found near the northwest shoreline of Powers Lake (ID 82009200), a 60 acre basin situated in the St. Paul-Baldwin Plains Ecological Subsection. Green-colored water. Individuals locally common, floating on the surface of the water near the shoreline edge.

Associates include Wolffia borealis, Spirodela polyrrhiza, Lemna trisulca, L. turionifera, Ceratophyllum demersum, Myriophyllum spicatum, Heteranthera dubia, Potamogeton pusillus, P. crispus, Elodea canadensis, Chara braunii.
