Description:
Growing on leftover coals in a campfire ring. Unbranched white corals 5-18 mm in length, tightly clustered on wood coal within a campfire ring. Older corals developing browning at the apex, apex on some turning brown with age. Fruit bodies not particularly fragile.
Notes:
Not certain this is C. fragilis due to the small size, unusual substrate, pointed apex, and sturdiness of the sporocarp.
