Growing in deep sand with a high water table.
Associated Species:
Dominated by Pinus strobus and Quercus ellipsoidalis. Associated with Corylus americana, Toxicodendron rydbergii, Rubus idaeus var. strigosus, Diervilla lonicera, Vaccinium angustifolium.
