Locality: United States, Colorado, San juan, San Juan Mountains; Burro Bridge Iron Fen, 4 miles south of Red Mountain Pass between Chattanooga and Silverton.
Elevation: 3100 meters (10168ft)
Habitat: Highly acidic fen, pH 3.5-4.4, with high concentrations of Fe and other ions.
Associated Species: Growing beside the usnic acid negative form that was tentatively called C. rangiferina.
Description: Typical yellowish form, usnic acid+
