Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness; Rolling bedrock terrain north of the Fernberg Road, 13 miles east-northeast of Ely. Local on tiny bedrock islet in Wood Lake.

Verbatim Elevation: 1345 feet
Habitat: Loose patch in shallow, rocky, silty-detrital soil over bedrock (Knife Lake metasedimentary rock) in ~50 square foot area dominated by Solidago canadensis and Lycopus uniflorus. In full sun 1-2 feet above lake level on islet which is ~.05 acres in size and rises ~3 feet at its highest point.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Carex aurea, Dichanthelium acuminatum, Agropyron trachycaulum, Agrostis scabra, A. stolonifera, Iris versicolor, Plantago major, Botrychium multifidum.
