Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness; Rugged terrain along the Canadian border, 26 miles east-northeast of Ely, in the southeastern end of Carp Lake, near the portage to Melon Lake.

Elevation: 413 meters
Verbatim Elevation: 1355 feet
Habitat: Locally common near the lakeshore. Loose to fairly dense patches in shallow water in a small sheltered cove, and along the shore in similar settings in the bay to the southwest. Fine sand substrate, often with a cap of fairly firm silty organic muck. Full sun.
Associated Species: Associates include Equisetum fluviatile, Juncus pelocarpus, Eriocaulon aquaticum, Utricularia resupinata, Littorella uniflora, Myriophyllum tenellum, Carex utriculata.
