Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Gently rolling forested terrain on the south side of Fall Lake, seven miles northeast of Ely; just off the Stub Lake hiking trail south of the Fall Lake Campground.

Habitat: Occasional in cedar and ash swamp. Interrupted canopy of mature Thuja occidentalis, with occasional Fraxinus nigra and Betula allegheniensis. Alnus incana and Acer spicatum in a patchy understory. In mossy hummocks (Hylocomium, Thuidium, Rhytidiadelphus, Ptilium, Dicranum). Small loose patches.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Equisetum pratense, E. arvense, Phegopteris connectilis, Carex interior, C. leptalea, C. disperma, C. pedunculata, C. gracillima, C. peckii, Luzula acuminata, Cornus canadensis, Mitella nuda, Rubus pubescens.
