Local and uncommon in dry sand prairie in dunes of Glacial Lake Agassiz. Prairie dominated by Schizachyrium scoparium, Calamovilfa longifolia, Carex siccata, Koeleria macrantha, Carex inops, Poa pratensis.

Sand.

Associated species: Selaginella rupestris, Antennaria parvifolia, Solidago nemoralis, Ambrosia psilostachya, Dalea villosa, Oenothera nuttallii, bryophytes.
