Habitat:
In maple basswood forest, mature. Wet sandstone cliff, 5 m. hgt. above flowing stream; on moss covered face especially intalus on crevices. Associates: Fragaria virginiana, parthenocissus quinquerolia, Impatiens spp., Solidago ulmifolia.
