Habitat: In a brushy thicket adjacent to an oak-aspen forest ... Associated with Corylus americana, Prunus virginiana, Crataegus chrysocarpa, C. punctata, Symphoricarpos occidentalis.
Description: A large shrub with 6 stems; the largest stem 3 m tall, 5 cm basal diameter. Stamens ca 10, anthers white. No compound throns, simple throns numerous. Fruit dull, deep red, soft, shrunkin (rippened prematurely?). Nutlets 3-4. Collected from the same stem as WRS27021 (flowering specimen).
