Associates include Carex pedunculata, Thelypteris phegopteris, Clintonia borealis, Aster macrophyllus, Athyrium angustum, Aralia nudicaulis, Streptopus roseus, Gymnocarpium dryopteris, Rubus parviflorus, Lonicera canadensis.
