Habitat: small kettle-hole bog (poor fen) in strongly-rolling wooded terrain; in wet Sphagnum on floating sedge mat. In full sun to partial shade of stunted Larix laricina. Associated species include Carex lasiocarpa, C. chordorrhiza, C. limosa, Eriophorum chamissonis, E. gracile, Dulichium arundinaceum, Andromeda glaucophylla, Vaccinium macrocarpon, Drosera rotundifolia, Scheuchzeria palustris, Pogonia ophioglossoides, Salix pedicelalris, S. pyrifolia, Betula glandulifera.
