Habitat: floating sedge mat on the boggy margin of shallow marly lake. In tamarack swamp on northeast side of lake. Wet, mucky peat. Partial shade of Larix laricina. Associates include carex lasiocarpa, Betula glandulifera, Thelypteris palustris, Drosera rotundifolia, Aster borealis, Eupatorium maculatum, Agalinis purpurea var. parviflora.
