Habitat: five acre boggy floating mat in small depression surrounded by wooded 20-40 foot hills. Strongly-rolling morainal terrain; Mostly in full sun, some plants partially shaded by Larix laricina. in carpet of continuous Sphagnum moss. Associates include Calla pallustris, Carex lasiocarpa, C. lacustris, C. chordorrhiza, Scirpus cyperinus, Triadenum fraseri, Sagittaria latifolia, Viola renifolia, Epilobium leptophyllum, Petasites sagittatus, Salix petiolaris, S. pyrifolia, S. discolor.
