Habitat: Strongly-rolling forested moraine ... in poor tamarack swamp in center of small (~9-acre) basin. Patchy canopy dominated by Larix laricina ... partial shade. Saturated peat. Continuous Sphagnum spp. moss carpets. Associated species include Smilacina trifolia, Thelypteris palustris, Vaccinium angustifolium, Andromeda glaucophylla, Chamaedaphne calyculata, Ledum groenlandicum, Salix pyrifolia, S. pedicellaris, Acer rubrum.
