Associates include viburnum trilobum, Betula glandulifera, Toxicodendron rydbergii, Cornus stolonifera, Ribes hirtellum, Cypripedium reginae, Platanthera hyperborea, Thelypteris palustris, Saxifraga pennsylvanica, Rubus pubescens, Carex leptalea, C. disperma.
