Habitat: On moist peaty-muck between hummocks in hardwood swamp, canopy is mixture of Larix laricina, Acer rubrum, Betula papyrifera, Fraxinus nigra, Betula alleghaniensis, and Ulmus spp., shrubs diverse, but not dense. Associated with: Leersia oryzoides, Glyceria striata, Pilea fontana, Circaea alpina, Epilobium coloratum, Impatiens capensis.
