in dry crevices of basalt above wave level. Plants 25 feet of higher on 50-foot cliffs and outcrops. In full sun. Associates include Potentilla tridentata, Achillea millefolium, Solidago hispida, Campanula rotundifolia, Euphrasia hudsoniana, Arabis hirsuta var. pycnocarpa, Poa sp.
