Habitat: Along the northern and easter shorelines ... In lower beach zone, up to 6 inches above the lake level, and up to 6 feet from the water's edge. Moist gravelly soil. Full sun. Associated species include Leersia oryzoides, Carex vulpinoidea, C. scoparia, Eleocharis palustris, E. Obtusa, E. acicularis, Schoenoplectus acutus, Juncus tenuis, Penthorum sedoides, Hypericum majus, Verbena hastata, Epilobium ciliatum, Sagittaria latifolia.
