Habitat: Fairly rugged forested terrain ... in vernal wetland in small (<1/4-acre), shallow depression surrounded by mesic hardwood forest. Sandy-loam; thick leaf litter and humus. Wetland currently dry, and likely only inundated or wet early in growing season. Canopy locally dominated by large Populus tremuloides. Associated species include Carex pedunculata, Maianthemum canadense, Pyrola elliptica.
