Habitat: seepage zone along hiking trail on lower half of 60-foot south-facing slope, 3-15 feet above the stream. Wet, mucky, rocky substrate. In full sun to partial shade of Betula papyrifera, Alnus incana, and Acer spicatum. Associates include Glyceria striata, Scirpus atrovirens, Carex gynandra, Poa palustris, Salix bebbiana, Thelypteris phegopteris, Equisetum arvense, Geum aleppicum var. strictum, Athyrium angustum. In anarrow band along 100 feet of trail
