Habitat: Small dry sand/gravel prairie opening surrounded by dry-mesic hardwood forest. Top of south facing slpe, full sun. Growing with Schizachyrium scoparium, Sorghastrum nutans, Poa pratensis, Bouteloua curtipendula, Amorpha canescens, Lithospermum canescens, Viola pedatifida.
