Habitat:
Wet-mesic to mesic brush prairie succeeding to aspen woodland. Low shrubs common, the most important being Corylus americana and Salix humilis; assoc. with Andropogon gerardii, Hieracium kalmii, Solidago rigida, Petalostemon candidum, Viola peditifida.
