Habitat: Eight acre kettle-hole bog (poor fen) in steeply-rolling terrain; in shallow water and wetter areas. On floating mat, often in Sphagnum. Full sun. Associates include Carex lasiocarpa, C. lacustris, Dulichium arundinaceum, Eriophorum angustifolium, Pogonia ophioglossoides, Lycopus uniflorus, Sagittaria latifolia, Scheuchzeria palustris, Spiraea tomentosa, Betula glandulifera. Forming dense carpets.
