Habitat: Dry sand prairie on old dunes. Growing in sparsely vegetated sand on eroding slope. Most common plant was Panicum commonsianum. Some plants in bare areas, but more common in prairie nearby. Associated with Calamovilfa longifollia, Sporobolus cryptandrus, Cyperus schweinitzii, Petalostemon villosum, Forelichia floridana var. campestris.
