Habitat: margins of narrow, rather distured wet meadow drainage through disturbed oak woodland. Full sun to partial shade under Populus tremuloides, Quercus macrocarpa & Rhamnus cathartica on woodland fringe, and Ulmus americana & Fraxinus pennsylvanica in wetland itself. Moist, black, organic soil. Associates include Phalaris arundinacea, Poa palustris, P. pratensis, Spartina pectinata, Platanthera flava, Cicuta maculata, Campanula aparinoides, Solidago gigantea & Rhamnus seedlings.
