in forested bog; Canopy of rather dense Picea mariana & Larix laricina. In continuous Sphagnum carpet. Associates include Smilacina trifoliata, Cypripedium acaule, Ledum groenlandicum, Vaccinium oxycoccus, V. angustifolium, Gaultheria hispidula, Kalmia polifolia.
