Habitat: Dense, mixed hardwood forest along river, dominated by Acer negundo, Quercus rubra, and Acer saccharinum, with few Tilia americana and Juglans nigra. Shrub layer of Zanthoxylum americanum, Ribes missouriense, Ribes americanum, along with Vitis riparia and Menispermum canadense. Herbaceous layer of Helianthus, Phalaris, Elymus canadensis, Thalictrum dasycarpum, Amphicarpaea bracteata, Laportea canadensis, with Poa pratensis, Plantago major, and Polygonum sp. along trail borders.
